Men’s Soccer Falls Around Day One Of Seahawks Classic



ST. MARY’S CITY, Md. –?Gustavus men’s soccer fell 1-0 against Saint. Mary’s College in day one of the Seahawks Classic about the campus of St. Mary’ersus College of Maryland.

The?Gusties slip to a 1-4 overall record around the season. Despite the loss, Mind Coach Mike Middleton is satisfied with his team’s performance.

“Superb game today, with lots of to-and-fro,” proclaimed Middleton.?“We certainly had the right chances.?The results are not proceeding our way yet, nevertheless we are playing well. ?And also, with a young group we have been learning all the time.”

St.?Mary’s?won the lone goal of the overall game?early at the 2:53 mark of the first time period. An?even match next disallowed either team to choose the back of the net. Gustavus trailed St.?Mary’s in total shots, 14-9.

“The lads have been receiving some compliments about how they play, which is often nice but we are right now wanting to put the performances in to the win column. We’ll see what we can do tomorrow,” Middleton commented.
