Minden tops Lakeside in Doyline Tourney

DOYLINE – On the first night of participate in the annual Doyline Tournament, the nightcap somewhere between Minden and Lakeside was the big citation.

Minden was able to shake off a careless first six minutes and produce an eye-popping 32-11 run to end a final 10 minutes of the first fifty percent. The Tide never slowed up, owning the second half together with pouring it on a lugubrious handful of Warriors on their way to a 74-58 gain.

“To our reserves credit history, they came in, worked hard along with played together,” Bailey said. “They got the ball for the basket like we talked about before the game, and I think oftentimes, for our starters, you can learn lots just by watching.”

Jalen Gould hit a pair of 3-pointers in the opening quarter to enjoy Lakeside , but Minden clamped down defensively to maintain the sharp shooter to 4 points the rest of the online game. The rest of the Warriors supporting solid was notably absent about offense as Minden got the fastbreak going off a slew associated with missed shots.

Minden outscored Lakeside 23-11 in the 2nd quarter as the momentum moved their way for good.

Minden could face tournament host Doyline Exclusive night at 8 r.m. in what should be one more energized parish matchup.

“I told the fellows once your feet hit the soil tomorrow morning it’s about another game,” Bailey said. “There’s almost nothing easy about this next activity. Doyline is the host team plus they expect to beat us. It will be tough, but we’ll see where it goes.”
