SIBLEY – The Lakeside Warriors will go inside their Christmas break feeling a tad better after defeating the actual Northwood Falcons 54-48 Tuesday night.
The Warriors bought all they could handle from the scrappy group of Falcons, as Northwood led for the halftime break 28-22.
Lakeside was playing Thursday night’s game already for a disadvantage, with one of their two leading scorers, Chase Mitchell, sitting out with a minor injury. The Warriors’ some of the best scorer, Jalen Gould, had one of the worst filming nights of his profession as he finished with just A couple of points.
That put the scoring burden on a host of many other Warriors who would answer the video call during a more efficient second half to get Lakeside.
“Northwood got ahead of us and extremely controlled the first half,In Lakeside head coach Jason Gould proclaimed.
Sensing his team needed some sort of defensive spark, Gould started the third quarter in a zone defense. The move paid off, when the Falcons went ice-cold from the floor.
Lakeside earned the third quarter 18-4 to seize control over the game and held contributing throughout an exciting back-and-forth fourth quarter.
“When we went to the zoom they just couldn’t score,Inches Gould said. “They started to miss a bunch of shots and we were escaping . in transition. I’m likes to show off the guys for really improving tonight. Now, we start our Holiday break with a little confidence, as we’ll be off right up until after Christmas.”
Michael Bradford stepped into the spotlight to lead Lakeside with Twenty points Tuesday, followed by Damian Coleman using 17 points in help support. Tyler Sterling had a nice game, putting 9 points.
Lakeside’s next recreation will be next Thursday, 12 ,. 29, when they travel to encounter the Gibsland-Coleman Bulldogs.
