NORTHFIELD, Minn. – The Gustavus men’s soccer team launched Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference enjoy Wednesday afternoon at Carleton School, taking the Knights into a great overtime period and plummeting 1-0 to move its record so that you can 3-3 overall and 0-1 in MIAC participate in.
After an even first 90 minutes, Carleton notched any game-winner just under two minutes in the first overtime period away a corner kick opportunity, giving Gustavus its first shutout loss ofin the 1-0 final.
“Disappointing result, yet very good performance, especially in the initially half,” said Head Teacher Mike Middleton. “We dominated the video game for large period of time without developing enough clear opportunities.
The Knights in combat held a 11-10 advantage with shot totals, while every single squad tallied four nook kicks. Matt Murakami (Sr., Eden Prairie, Minn.) led the actual Gusties with three shots, when Arthur Parens (Jr., Wayzata, Minn.) and Jarod Petrovic (So., Plainfield, I’ll.) each added two. Goalkeeper Matt Bateman (Jr., Savage, Minn.) made 3 saves while suffering losing in goal.
“There is no doubt that your game on Sunday infected this result,” Middleton commented. “At this point we need to get back on track for this few days.”
