ST. PAUL, Minn. C The Gustavus men’s football team secured the No. 3 seed products in the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Discussion Playoffs on Saturday which has a thrilling 2-1 overtime victory from Hamline. Cody Billins’ (Fy., Farmington, Minn.) first career goal came with just five seconds keeping the first overtime period to seal the victory in the ordinary season finale. The Gusties improve to 7-8-1 overall and 6-3-1 from the MIAC, and will host No. 7 seed Augsburg at 2 s.m. Tuesday in the initially round of league 2009-2010 season.
“Good win today. That’s 6-8 out of the last seven video game titles won, and 18 out of your last 21 points being offered gained,” Head Mentor Mike Middleton said. “We played adequately in the first half especially, hitting the post twice plus creating multiple chances. Patrick Roth being denied one-on-one by the goaltender who made a nice conserve with his foot when Tanker was free on aim.”

I’m very proud of the lads who were not to be cowered today, standing tall and proving their really worth. A well deserved three elements in the bag.”
