District races are beginning to take shape around the state.
Here in Webster Parish, several teams are already nearing must-win region after disappointing starts to the actual district schedule. Other competitors sit atop their region standings and need wins and keep it that way.
The Glenbrook Apaches are traveling a 6-game winning streak moving into the most important game of their time of year Tuesday at home against Marriage Christian Academy. Their 5-0 record in district 6AA is tied with the Lions own location mark, meaning the success of Tuesday’s showdown will have sole-possession for first place.
The Minden Lady Tiders are 22-2 in general and 4-0 in 1-4A. They are at present riding a massive wave connected with momentum as winners involving 15-straight games. Minden will play at Upper DeSoto on Tuesday.
The Minden boys and Glenbrook young ladies are both looking to climb directly into district races with is the winner Tuesday as well, while the Lakeside A warrior and Lady Warriors try and stay involved in their 1-2A contests against North Caddo Tuesday night time at home.
The Doyline Panthers and Lady Panthers are 0-1 in district play just after falling to Weston on the road continue Friday.
This week offers a probability to get back on track, as both groups will be at home Tuesday night time to take on district foe Castor in the Doyline gym.
All varsity contests tip-off on 6 p.m. along with girls games, followed by varsity boys.
