QUITMAN C The Doyline Panthers didn’t get the outcome they were looking for on the road from Class B’s No. 8 workforce, Quitman.
Friday’s matchup between the Panthers and Wolverines had been the final contest of the ordinary season, as both organizations now turn their aim to the postseason.
The Panthers could only gather two hits on the evening, both of them singles.
Cameron Smith required the loss on the mound for Doyline, pitching 2 1/3 innings, allowing seven hits and seven runs.
Joshua Longstreath done the final 1 1/3 innings, striking available three batters.
Doyline will number Monterey in round one of the Group B playoffs Wednesday, with a start time to be released later.
